English Day

On the 28th of April we celebrated The English Day. A few days ago we were preparing activities for the students of 2nd of Primary. Some small groups were working on puppets about Mr Men & Little Miss. My group made our own puppets. We made it with a material called Rubber Eva. Each one made her own character. I made Little Miss Sunshine, she was so cutee!

Saint George's Day

Happy Saint George's Day!

Is typical to the boy gives the girl a rose, and the girl gives the boy a book.
Saint George's Day falls in the same day tha William Shakeaspeare died.

Easter

In my family we don't celebrate Easter, but we go to another place (like little holidays).
Here in Catalonia the tipical celebration is meet family and eat chocolate eggs,
In England they do the Egg's hunt. Consists of search eggs in a field.
This year we went to Basque Country with some friends and we ate a chocolate egg, it was great!

Carnival

Happy Carnival!
In our school we celebrate Carnival doing a costumes' competition. Most of people drssed up. All courses go up to the stage. There are prizes. In primary you can win individual costume prize or colective costume prize. the same as in the secundary.
In my case, my fiends and I, we dressed up of Superheroes. We were pairs of each superheroes we chosen. My pair and I, we were Superman, another two were Batman, America Captain, and finally the bad one Joker.
We didn't win, but we enjoyed a lot doing our costumes and dressing up.

Christmas

Merry Christmas!
Last 25 of December at the morning my parents, my brothers and me open our presents. Santa Claus bring me: a skirt, a T-shirt, a scarf, and a watch Casio.
All of my family, my grandparents, my oncle, my aunt, my cousins... went to my house. We ate a tipical catalan dinner in Christmas: a soap. The second dish was duck cannelloni. It was delicious.
I enjoy a lot with my family.
The next days i did some homework.
th 29th i travel, by car, to Madrid. My parents, my brother and me, we passed a week there. We visited the Retiro Parc, Puerta del Sol, Saint Miguel Market, a town called Chinchon, and also we wents shopping.
We returned the 4th of January. The night before the Three Kings Day, I went to town with some friends to see the three magic king's cavalcade.
The 6th January, the Three Magic King's day, at the morning, I woke up and I woke my parents. We go downstairs and down the Christmas tree were a loooot of presents. For me it was: a bag, smooth gloves, a belt, a colony, a pijama with slippers, and something that I wanted time ago: boots UGG!!
All of us were very happy.
We went to eat to my grandparents' house. My grandma cooked a delicious soup.
There were a lot ofpresents too: for my cousins, for my oncles and tantes, for my parents, for my grandparents, for my brother, and also for me. I open al of them: a gift card, a jacket type biker, and shoes: the Superestar.
We also eat, at the afternoon, a tipical sponge cake calles "Roscon de Reyes".
I love all my presents. And I love too passed the Christmas with my family, I enjoyed a lot.

Thanksgiving day

Here, in Spain we don't celebrate Thanksgiving Day, because is traditional in the USA and in Canada.

In 1620 the English people went to the USA in search of new lands and new products. When they arrive they discover new aliments like corn. But no one knew how to cultivate. So the English people meet the american people who were living there: the Indians. The Indians help the english people to cultivate. The English people were very grateful, and they decided to have dinner with Indians to thank. 

The people who lives in these countries gives thank to God for the aliments they are eating.

All the families eat together and enjoy. It's very traditional to eat turkey in this date.
